It's really not that hard. The ****'s at the ups store screwed me shipping it out. I had to carry it in put it on the scale lift it in the box, carry the box with the tranny in the back. The same went for the t-case. No money off for shipping, lazy women.

Anyone weighed a 05 tranny recently?

You will be fine.... the tranny is only 127 lbs. That includes the bin (only a few lbs anyway). The transfer case was about 67 lbs.

BTW I shipped FedEx.

LOL I had the same experience, but they were females so I couldn't give them too much crap. If it was two dudes I would be like wtf? Wussies.

I will be sending my tranny and transfer case to Shep, as soon as my car is dropped off at Vivid for my 2.4 stroker.

Sure, straight from the manual it says for the transmission -
"gear oil API classification GL-4 SAE 75W-85W or 75W-90." - 2.9 quarts

For the Xfer case

"hypoid gear oil API classification GL-5 SAE90." - .58 quarts

Now, since the center differential is inside the transmission I am wondering if there is a separate fill spot for it. Hrmm I will browse the manual a bit more.

--Update: Just read up on it and it looks like only the spider gear portion of the center diff is in the tranny. The limited slip part (Liquid or clutch type depending on year) is in the transfer case off to the passenger side of the front diff. That would explain the type and small amount of oil needed for the transfer case. If you have a newer clutch type center diff, then I am not sure what you put in it.

Awesome, good to know. I'm going to weigh the boxes I have this weekend and get an ***-ton of styrofoam peanuts.

Thanks. Putting the tranny I think is a hell of a lot easier than pulling it IMO.

And it's on the way back so in a few days the car should be running again, hopefully.

TRE and Shep are 2 different companies.

As for your fluids, definitely Mitsubishi Diaqueen in the TC and Rear-diff and personally for the transmission I reccomend Pennzoil Synchromesh . I changed it and it shifts better! I went from reccomendations by Shep.

Where can one acquire Mitsubishi Diaqueen for the TC, because they only stock it in 5 gallon pales at the dealership.
