the 35R the 37R or 42???

Well i finally have my back up motor ready soo its time to punish the stock motor .. Here is my question would the stock motor be even able to handle the 37R or 42R at all? i know people have put the 35r on the stock motor and had it last a decent amount of time.

One more question on pump gas with alky how much more whp would i get with the 37r vs the 35?

thanks guys!

NO, not without more lag than you know what to do with!! The car would be horribly slow and suck to drive. Not too mention 37R's are backordered through AMS until Dec. 06' unless you were going with another brand.

42' is race turbo and it would be utter sacrilage to put it on a stock motored car!! 35R or smaller and you still won't be able to come close to it's potential...unless you are Sean Ivey..hah ha hahhahaha

I got a evo 8 short block with a spun bearing that iam etiher shipping out to ams or going to turbo trix with getting it stroked to 2.3 fully built. I just thought it would be fun to push the stock block to see how much it can take haha.

I know from my other cars when you dont care and want it to blow up it will hold on for a lonnng time haha. As for the 35r and 37r i was just wondering the difference in hp with a pump+ meth tune. If it would be a 40 or 50whp difference then i think the 37r would be worth the long wait.

Ok say i go with a 35R at first right. Would the 37r work with the 35r exhaust manifold and all the other parts of the kit, if i wanted to swap the 37 on?

IIRC, AMS's 35 and 37 kits are the same and you can just get the turbo.

Don't quote me on that though.

No i bought a ev8 shortblock that had a spun bearing to build up. So i dont have to rip the motor out of my car and have down time. i got the shortblock for around 900 ever place i see there is a 1,600 core charge, soo iam saveing my self money to boot.

I still have the motor that my car came with i just want to get my moneys worth you know .

Oh and btw i like quote you have haha.

I'd say stick with the 35r. The motor isn't really what you need to worry about, it's your trans and difs that'll break first

Don't confuse "lil stronger" with "built."
