So to rev between 8-8.5k I'll need 272 cams, head studs, springs/retainers and thats it?

Yeah thats right. What cams you want is really a whole different scenario but 272s work well, 280s should give a little more up top with a sacrifice in idle (unless yorue going standalone.) Some people like Revolvers too. Most 50 trims Ive seen dynoed had HKS cams and made great power though.

The AMS shop car and Dynoflash's 900whp car run JUN 272s. I dont think Id reccomend them to everyone like that. Its an erratic idle and quite a serious cam. Standalone is a MUST on them. HKS 280s are fine reccomendation though.

Oops! I forgot you had an IX, I was thinking VIII. Youre pretty tight with cam choice, but Im pretty sure HKS is coming out with some soon, for a temp you can use just an exhaust cam.

Yea HK$ does have Mivec Cams but they have not relased them yet. I did see their prototype @ SEMA last year. They said they were going to release them in the end of Febuary.... go figure it's friggin almost June now...

You will prolly need some Titanuim Valvetrain to rev past 8K to be on the safe side. A DPR ported head would work nice too!

jun272's can run fine on a stock ECU as long as the stock MAF is replaced. You can either go with ecu+ or maftpro... he wants to rev 9k the hks 280's probally won't cut it.

Riiight you didnt mention that though. Like 0.0001% of owners of use a MAFpro or ECU+. He also restated what he said about the 9k+ revlimit... 8.5 should be fine.
