piggyback vs custom flash

(regardless of option that piggyback provide)
I'm only asking about the power and drive ability.
what do u guy think which one will make more power and less problem?

I heard alot of thing from my local tuner that I will have pretty much the same number on custom flash as I will get from piggyback.

thank you

I think you would make the same with a custom flash. The only downside is you cannot make adjustments yourself.

go to www.openecu.org download their FREE ECUFlash software and buy the $90 1.3 Mitsubishi cable from www.tactrix.com and voila you can flash your own car via laptop. cheaper than ANY other ecu tuning tool, you can have a pro do the tuning for you but you can make your own corrections and learn the tuning process if you so choose. check out the ECU Flash forum here on evom.net its under the engine management section. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/fo...play.php?f=179

Piggybacks are useful, sure, but what could be better than using factory hardware, to control the car that the hardware was designed for?

Plus Dynoflash now offers reflashes through E-MAIL using the tactrix cable and the ecuflash software for only $50!!

i prefer a piggyback you can change maps your self depending on what tyoe of fuel you use also if you do something new to your car you dont have to send the ecu back you just adjust your maps! thats my opinion

I love my UTEC, between the self tuning capabilities and the 5 on the go maps it is a perfect match for what I need, but it certainly not cheap and its not for everyone...

Which can now be done with self-flashing software as was just mentioned above. There is no longer any need for any piggback units. Even if you DON'T tune yourself, you don't need a piggyback, because you can have as many maps as you want even if someone else does the tuning.

I think the piggy back would be smarter since its easier to deceive mitsubishi during warranty work, you just pretty much take it off. No reflashing. It's more expensive, but if I was going for the high horespower amount, like anything above 400whp without the stock turbo, I'd go for the piggy. As stated above, it would get irritating mailing in the ECU everytime, I'd lose sleep when it was in the mail, too. If you have two cars it would make things more simple. Anyway, comes down to your budget and preference.

You can also reflash yourself back to stock, so that is no longer a benefit of the piggyback.

Did you not read what I just said about no longer having to send your ECU in the mail for reflashes, ultraist?

He cannot do it himself, he has already made that clear. He would have no choice but to mail it in, or find a professional.
