Cant shift into gear when car is started

Ok i have had this problem for the past few months where every now and then its hard to put the car into gear, but didnt happen often. But last night after i did a quick launch i find it impossible to put into gear. When the car is running and it is at a stop you can't shift it into any gear. when the car is off it shifts through the gears just like normal. now i have to start the car off in 1st or reverse just to get going. another thing is when the car is in movement i can shift down and up through the gears pretty easy. Only thing i could think of is that i took in my car about 6 weeks ago to get all the fluids changed tranny, diff etc. so wondering if maybe the didnt put enough fluid in the case. anyways any feedback would be helpful.

Here do this, put your car into gear and start it with the clutch disengaged with the brakes off (on a flat surface obviously). If the car moves then your clutch is worn or warped and is not disengaging all the way which can cause hard shifting. Adjust accordingly.

You can also check you fluids. Good luck.

Speaking of that, I'm also having the same problem. A few months ago I had my ACT installed over at Turbotrix, and also had them change all the fluids, however now I'm also having trouble putting the car into gear, when coming to a complete stop. Right now my car is apart since I'm waiting for a few goodies from AMS, anyways I was under the car removing the lower i/c pipe and I noticed a few oil spots, and my transfercase and tranny are all covered in this oily dirt, I can't seem to figure out what's wrong, or if anything was messed up while they where installing my clutch.

Either clutch is gone, or master/slave cylinder problem.

Agreed.

If it will go into gear when the engine is not running but, will not once the engine is started it is either in need of adjustment or replacement. If it is a bad master you would probably notice a difference in pedal feel or a puddle of fluid.

does it matter that when the car is going it shifts fine through the gears. just when car is stopped and out of gear its hard to put back in.
