Turbine info

I was doing some interesting reading this wekend about turbines (yes i know i am a nerd for reading tech support) and one of the things i was reading about was VNT's (variable nozzle turbines) . It say that they are to help with turbo lag, does anyone know any more about these ? Are there any out there for us ? The book i was reading had a lot of good things to say about them.

VNT's are commonly used on some Harley turbo kits and HKS is developing kits using this tech.

There are vanes on shafts on the hotside turbine, they can control speed and volume of the ehaust gases enabling a good amount of control. Good tech but needs development and testing.

Yeah it had alot in the book about turbines and other drive train stuff but i thought that particular bit ...well along with composite wheels for turbines that were used on R32 Skylines, was really cool. I wonder if VNT's can make as much power as someof the bigger turbines out there ?
