GT3071 Turbo Kit questions

Let me start out by mentioning that I DID SEARCH.... So please, no replies linking me to the search page.

Upon searching, a lot of the info I found was rather dated and I just had a few questions for those who have run / are running or have experience with the GT3071 turbo kits.

Forgive me if these are stupid questions, I am somewhat of a newb with aftermarket turbos on the Evo, and am just considering this.

Real quick, here's my setup:
Stock 2.0 motor
ARP Head Studs
GReddy Evo2 TBE w/ test pipe
Meth kit
850cc injectors
Walbro fuel pump
HKS 264/272 cams
APS FMIC
APS Intake
Cusco Twin Plate Clutch
AEM EMS controlling boost/meth/etc.

I may be leaving something minor out, but that's the bulk of the mods... Anyhow, I'm looking at turbo options right now and the GT3071 sounds decent. I think a GT35R or bigger would be a bit much for me, I don't have super high power goals and I'm not all that into drag racing.

With my setup, about what kind of boost would I be able to run with this turbo kit? What kind of power might this be good for..? I've found info on the ATP kit and the PD kit, but I couldn't tell the differences between the two. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks all...

you have about the same setup as our TT EVO using and AMS turbo kit with a 3076 turbo kit. Turbo lag is just about non existant. the car feels good. right now. We are going to switch out the 264/272 hks cams for our 272/264 setup. I am going to post the difference for all to see. now before everyone asks why in the hell GSC has HKS cams in there car truth be told we bought the car and they happened to have HKS in there. SO Im pretty impressed with the turbo kit. the spool is smooth and boost holds all the way to red line. the car is missing a little KICK in the *** IMO but im sure the cam switch will fix that problem. the previous owner told me the car made 424whp on 100 octian on a mustang dyno. I am going to dyno the car next week before and after the cam swap so i can post the difference.

I must say just as always anyone shopping for a turbo kit needs to really think about the AMS kit it really is worth the money. the header is great fitment is perfect and the power comes on soooo smooth. I know it costs a little more money but hey it really is worth the money.

Sweet, thanks for the info, Greg! Around what boost level is it at to make 424 whp? I've heard the 3071 kits can hold about 27 psi to redline, and I'm guessing the 3076 kit that you're using can hold even more.

If anyone else has any info on 3071/3076 kits, I'm all ears... Thanks again!

Cool, sounds good. Are you running upgraded fuel components too? Just curious, ever run the car in the 1/4 mi? Like I mentioned I'm not all that into drag racing, but it's always fun to compare those #s too when possible. Overall you're pretty happy w/ the whole turbo kit setup? Thanks for the info, keep it comin'
