Just got my 6-puck installed
So my ACT street disc was beginning to slip for a while and i went back and fourth with my issue between spending around 600 for an act xtreme pressure plate with a 6 puck or spending thousands on a carbon double or tripple disc clutch.
Finally after listening to the guys at turbotrix i went with the 6 puck and i couldn't be happier. It is a little tight on engagement (as expected) but i was used to it in a day and i can't tell you how great it shifts up top. During "Spirited driving", changing gears is effortless and lockout is non-existant.
I could not be happier with this clutch. Any one considering a 6-puck but are afraid of the drivability shouldn't worry cause it's not nearly as bad as you think.......

Rez90 thats awsome!! I also considered one as well, cost wise its night and day but when launching with it can't it be super harsh on stock drivetrain parts compared to a multiplate clutch? I would think a twin or triple disc is a little easier to slip or would take a little more shock away from the transfer case than an unsprung 6 puck, but i'm not sure?????
Yeah I ran one for about 5k- and I liked better than my triple exedy (DD driven to work ect). Was not near as noisy as the triple disk (made tons of noise compared to the ACT 6 puck). I should have left it on and never changed it for the triple. Mine was an usprung 6 puck, now they make them sprung hub. The unsprung will make more stress on the TC with heavy launches. My 6 puck engaged like stock except for the inital grab. Shifts were smooth and no lock outs.
Enjoy the clutch!!! I liked mine!!
My guess is sprung hub as they came out with them shortly after I bought mine. As for cost roughly 600 is my guess.. Mine was 475 or so.
I believe they do work with the stock flywheel, mine did.
here Slow boy racing has them:562.00

The disc is an unsprung 6-puck. And i love it. Sure if it's dropped it will put a lot of stress on the TC and tranny but as long as you pay attention, it can be slipped........
i considered the sprung 6-puck but after physically seeing one compared to an unsprung, i went with the unsprung because there was a huge weight difference between the two discs.

6 pucks are hard...the clutch pedal gets ridiculously hard.
that's why i like the twin discs....stock pedal feel
