Big gains from fairly minor parts changes at Buschur Racing...
I have a customer that turned into a good friend. Mike is his name. Has an '03 Evolution.
The car was equipped with our Stage 4, Deluxe FMIC, very mildly ported head, HKS 280 cams, Stage 3 Two liter shortblock, 1000 cc injectors, alky kit, our GT35R (older style kit with the T3 housing) kit and an AEM EMS.
I road tuned the car with Mike last year and put it on the dyno just to see what it would make. When we did I was surprised to see the car not making as big a number as I expected. I tweaked the car the best I could but still did not make the numbers I wanted. The car felt fast and Mike was happy, I was not. The numbers last year were 442 whp and 339 ft lbs of torque.
Mike ran the car and has run 11.1 at 128 mph.
I had called Mike one night to just BS and I brought up the fact that I was never happy with what his car made for power and would like to see him change a few parts over to see if it would pick up.
Mike brought the car in a few weeks ago and dropped it off.
Here is what we changed:
Switched out our T3 style GT35R turbo kit for our current kit that uses the FP turbine housing, installed the Revolver camshafts, installed our race FMIC and ported his intake manifold and installed our 65mm throttle body.
I put the car back on the dyno and retested. Amazing results.
The power went up to 508 whp and 421 ft lbs of torque. So you don't have to do the math, that's an increase of 66 whp and 82 ft lbs of torque. The even crazier part is if you look at the curve and see that the while the peak gains are really good the area under the curve is freaking nuts. At 5200 rpm the car gained about 150 whp and 150 ft lbs of torque.
Very happy to get the car straightened out. It will be ripping up the streets of Texas soon!

Nice work David. Good to see your years of experience was able to predict what a setup may need to wake it up. Amazing difference before and after. Where both results on pump gas and alky? Or race gas?
that went from normal car with turbo kit to nuts never going back type car. and he gained some spool... did you time the cams for better spool up?

Call me crazy, and not to nitpick...but this just made me laugh..
508 - 442 = 66whp
So I guess we did have to do the math after all.....

Oh, redid your torque numbers too...ya those were wrong.
421 - 339 = 82lb/ft
Dude where did you go to school again? Was George Bush in your class?
So you don't have to do the math, that's an increase of 87 whp and 103 ft lbs of torque.

Hey, small nitpicky thing. Do you mind not typing Scorke at the end of every post? Just put it in your sig. I keep having to delete it when I quote you.
