Tranny help. Instant help needed!!!
Tranny help. Instant help needed!!!
I'm an idiot.
I just tried changing my tranny fluid. I just realized that I was supposed to have the car level/jacked up before draining. I had only the fronts on ramps. Proceeded to drain.
We then started filling with a bottle of BG synnroshift II. I'd say it only allowed us to put in maybe even a half a quart, then it started coming out.
To make a long story short, we figured we'd just jack up the back end to make the car level. Even more fluid came out. So we feel as though we maybe put in less fluid, then what came out.
Any help or suggestions? I don't have enough syncroshift to re-drain the fluid from a level height. Do you think I'll have too little or too much tranny fluid in there now?
Help ....

I'm in a rural town right now thats about 5000 population. Ordered the BG from buscher racing...
Are you sure you're filling the transmission and not the transfer case. I usually do my transmission with the front jacked up and the rear wheels on the ground without any issues. If you were only able to get half a quart in it sounds like you were working on the transfer case. The transmission fill hold is below the battery up on the side of the transmission. The transfer case fill plug is towards the passenger side of the car.

Well...how much came out when you drained it? The drain plug is on the bottom so I don't think it matters to much whether it was on jack stands or not but when you you fill it back up, it would be best to have it level. You're only able to get half a quart in there?

Now I'm wondering the same thing. Any have any links or pics of the different fill holes and the drain plugs for both the TC and the tranny.
I'm on dial up 24.4kbs so please don't tell me to search. Thanks guys...

Yes, this is correct. Now I'm wondering if I was pouring Tranny fluid into the TC? The fill hole that we were using was facing towards the front of the car. Took a 17mm socket to get off....
Comments?
Easy mistake for sure, don't sweat that. I don't know anymore to help you with. I don't want to offer you the wrong advice. you will be fine! Someone else on here will tell you what to do now!
don't sweat it bro. just get extra bottle of the fluid and flush it out. remember teh TC is on the left near the DP and the Tranny is on the right as you looking from the front of the evo to the back and also follow my link

What happened from what I'm seeing now....
WE drained the Transfer Case..
Yet, we filled the transmission fill plug. So I'm not sure if the car should be level or have the rear wheels still on the ground. Get what I'm saying?
Damn me O_o
EDIT. What i mean is, we tried filling the transmission fill hole with tranny fluid when the rear wheels were on the ground.
Then after We put a half quart in or so, I decided to jack up the rear to make the car level. Obviously tranny fluid came out of the fill plug. So the tranny fluid level should be fine then, right? OR wrong?

Hey man what ever you do DO NOT put that fluid in the tc to refill it. You can uses the stuff you took of of the tc or get tc fluid. But do not put tranny fluid in the tc. Just had to make sure you knew as there have been tons of dealerships putting the wrong stuff in there. The tranny should take allmost 3 qts and the tc takes half a qt. Also the tc fill hole is next to the pass side axle on the tc. tranny fill is ont he front as you said
