Startup difficulties

Alright I will attempt to explain this to the best of my ability. A few months ago I started to experience random difficulties starting the car.

It would crank over - sometimes making a grinding sound - a loud sudden screach. The best way to explain the sound would be what the flywheel & starter would sound like if the flywheel were missing or had 1 worn down tooth. When it did this if I did not hold down the starter long enough I would throw 335 & 340 codes. Crankshaft and camshaft sensor codes.

I dealt with these random problems for a few months as they only showed up once a week maybe. The car has since been rebuilt - new tranny, new clutch, new timing belt, etc.

Problems are becomming more and more frequent. Most of the times now I have to flip the key several times to get it to start. When i turn the key I can hear the fuel pump kick in - but I am getting no spark. This becomes very severe should I stall out.

The only thing I can think of is the crankshaft position sensor is going. I am going to order one tommorow if I can get an agreement that is my problem.

The xede piggy back is ruled out as I have the new firmware and it has a bypass mode on startup, i have to hold the throttle over 2k rpm for 3/4 sec before it activates.

Any other troubleshooting info would be greatly appreciated.

Took the xede off - problem still persists. Going to swap starter motors with a buddy tommorow and see how that goes.
