you do not lose torque at the low end...its just that you have so much more at the upper end it makes it seem like you lose torque.
The difference is bigger...you get a bigger kick up top.
is your observation done based on your *** dyno?
if you look on dynos of different exhaust sizes (2.5 to 3"), it shows that you gain torque and power at all RPMs.
