Cams and Fuel Pump ?

OK my 272/272 cams are in and Im thinkin about putting them on before my fuel pump...My fuel pump is going to be in on Monday or Tues.. Is it safe enough to run without an Upgraded fuel pump for a few days, or should i just wait it out? My other mods.....TbE,SFACII,Wideband,LICP Thanks.

The cams are not really related to the fuel pump, so there's no worry.

You'll want to sell the SAFC and get a flash when you're done.

Ok thanks, I wasnt sure if it would run to lean without the Pump.....Yeah I was debating selling it, but i see no use for it after my flash, I was about to order a Cable to do my flashes

Cams don't make you run lean, plus you have the SAFC right there to adjust the fuel. Not sure why you'd be worried about being lean when you have a self-tuning device - just adjust it as necessary.

Smart move on the EcuFlash cable...

Thanks for the Input....What gains should I expect with the Cams tuned vs. untuned?

Well, adding cams should give you around 30whp/30wtq through most of the powerband. The difference between power after adding the cams and then getting tuned is hard to say. It's less the power gain and more the optimization of power through the entire powerband. Cams throw the fueling off, but they still make more power than before even when untuned. The tune will get all the power and make it smooth and safe.
