Yup they are impossible to find. They don't even sell new ones from the dealer. I bought one for a customer and #1, they requuire your core. #2 it stated "remanufactured" on the "new" starter.

As we said in the other thread, you should take it back to the dealer and then go buy a different Evo. These are some very strange problems, and I know you were hoping to score by getting an already-modded Evo, but there is much risk involved when doing so. Have the dealer figure it out and fix instead of relying on anonymous Internet posters.
