Flywheel resurfacing? what are my options?

Flywheel resurfacing? what are my options?

Ok im puting my clutch in and i know its wise to resurface the flywheel...but i dont want to bring it somewhere is there anyway i can sand it with really fine grit sandpaper or do something instead of bring it to a machine shop?

Resurfacing a flywheel is not a DIY operation - unless you own a machine shop. Get it done right the first time.

have it stone grinded at a machine shop,not cut(if they still even do that),thats the right way to do it,like it was stated this is not a DIY deal unless you want to screw your car up.

Also make sure that the machine shop has the ability to balance it after resurfacing. Danny23 is correct that it must be ground, not turned since the surface will have hard spots on it.

anyone know any place is mass that can do this or how much it cost or anything

For the price you may pay or the hassle/performance. I would go with a Fidanza flywheel (9.5lbs) the performance is great and they are rebuildable, just order a friction kit for $90 when it needs resurfacing. I love mine, along with their 4.3 clutch hands down.
