A $30k car and there are people openly admitting they'll purchase an "ebay" part...

Some people are ridiculous.

IMO, I'd rather pay a few extra $$$ for well engineered piece of hardware than a cheap knock off. Also by purchasing an original you are allowing the company (AMS in this case) to continue funding R&D on future go faster goodies.

Yes the knock-offs might look the same and perform roughly the same but again IMO, slapping sub-standard parts onto a car like an Evo is taking away from the thorough-bred nature of the car.

It's like taking your thorough bred pit-bull and mating it with a french poodle. Yes its still a dog at the end of the day but it's lost all of its quality traits.

You are kidding me right? The EVO is a cheap econo box car that is made in Japan.

Claiming you wont buy parts made overseas for your jap crap car is ridiculous. I love my EVO because it hauls **** and it will haul **** with ebay parts though it may be a little slower because of all the extra money I have in my wallet.

Like I've said all along..... a pipe is a pipe.... this is nothing more than a "U" shaped pipe and there is no reason at all that it should cost over $100.

Lets keep in mind I actually purchased the AMS LICP.

You are retarded. I am buying a house for $285,000. Does this mean I must get a $25,000 couch because I paid that much for it?

Idiot.

You can only do so many different things with a few feet of pipe. There won't be much difference in them.

If it fits, and is cheap, go for it.

That isn't a good analogy, my 2 bedroom condo here in jersey cost $285,000

$285k would get you a shack out in the swamp in my part of NJ

A crappy house here runs $350k, a 4 bedroom 2000 sq ft'r runs $450+ and in some areas over $600k.

Thats completely irrelevant. The point is, just because you buy an expensive car doesnt mean you have to buy expensive everything for it. What that orignial post said was just ridiculous. However your real-estate statements are true, how do I know. I live in NJ too

So are you guys saying my JunB.L exhaust that is made in Korea is a crappy part? It is heads over heels better than almost any exhaust I have seen. And yes it costs a bit more than what you might pay for other exhausts, although the quality and materials are top-notch. Plus it has a 10 year warranty... This all comes for a part that is not even made here.

We are in the process of building a LICP and I can tell you that based on quantity purchases and our design it will be hard to make this pipe for $100. It is easy to assume what material costs but at some point a realization has to be made on the bottom line. Would you work for $2 an hour? I wouldn't.

My house here in crappy michigan is 100k for 3bed/2bath. Its a decent house, the same house in a bigger metro area would be at least 200k in Michigan. And I am thinking of moving too...

Don't get me wrong by my quote earlier... I have NO PROBLEM paying for a really nice part, in fact, I actually have the AMS LICP part on my car. At the time I bought it, it was upwards around $250 almost. I bought it anyways...

It's is really stupid to think that just because a car is $30K means you have to spend tons of money on it to make it nice..

Think of it this way, if I bought my Aston martin DB9S that I really want, and put a set of $5,000 HRE total custom offset wheels on it, does that make my Aston cheap/ricer? No, even though the $ value of the wheels is a lot, it is simply not proportionate.

If I put those same wheels, on my evo, then when I get my DB9S, damn, I am going to have to put $20K worth of wheels on it... Shizzle!

BTW, Yeah, Soon2BEvo, yeah, you can quite it. But, if you make any royalties off of it you owe me a beer! haha!
