Ok, EcuTek is just a flash program. I would assume he's already tuned if he's running 13.2s...

The stock turbo maxes out about 210-220whp on our dyno. Right around where a stock EVO lands. 13.2 is a respectable time, must have a great 60'. 210-220whp usually lands a 13.5 for most of our customers. What's his trap?

Cheers,

Gary

When I had my WRX I ran it with similar mods and it ran 13.8@99

I ran that with a HKS DP, Greddy Evo II 3"TB, CAI,Borla header,MBC@17psi, upipe.

Keep in mind that was in Tucson(3100ft) an in the summer, proud to be in the 13's when a STI couldn't break 13's though.

I ran just a little faster after I did a turbokit. Not even comparable with the slowest Evos.

Yeah Gary.. you are right.. amongs all the Downpipes in the market for the WRX the HKS I think is the worst. As far as I know is the only Downpipe with the rataining wall in front of the flapper.

What is criminal is that almost no vendors have the actual picture of the real Downpipe. I want to bet that if everyone knew that the HKS had the retaining wall it wouldn't sell at all.

Price wise yes it is the cheapest, at least removes the 2 cats...

a subaru setup like that will most liklely go 14's at a good track, yet Ive seen them go as slow as low 15's modded like that at a bad track like Palmdale which is 3500ft or so..
There was a guy that use to run his bone stock automatic in SIR(Tucson) For almost 18 months he consistently ran 16.5@83-84mph, he finally sold it and never modded.

That was at 3100ft elevation. Most of WRX's I have seen at SIR run low 15's to high 14's with low mods(3"tb,mbc,cai).

With more boost low 13s. are possible, I don’t see it happening on 14psi.

I traded in my 02 wrx for an 03 EVO, and I'll tell you that with less mods. I could run 13.5 @100 all day long. Stock clutch, up-pipe, pully, cat-back and mbc running 19psi. If your friends ups his boost he should be able to run at least high 13s.
