Recurculation???? (newbie)

HI ALL! as I stated Im a newbie with an evo so don't throw jargon and the like at me if you can

Im in New Zealand, and I just got a evo IV..(I KNOW I KNOW!! but I love it and I love evos so why not!?)

Anyway I have been searching and searching for information on what kind of effect putting a VTA (Vent to atmosphere) blow off valve on my evo when there is currently a recirculation unit in there. I dont know if you guys know much about a 97 evo IV but It would be a BIG help.

I know that it gets plumbed back into the intake before the turbo after the Filter and Air flow meter. DOes it have to be recirculated??? it if isnt will my cumputer automatically adjust the fuel? is it even that big of a deal? Ive heard that it helps the turbo keep spinning therefore keep the boost higher while shifting. Also that if it wasnt recirculated my engine would run rich because Im not shoving that extra air back into the exhaust....

ANY help at all would be GREAT!!

Please don't mess up your awesome IV by trying to be a riceboy and add a BOV for noise. That's a heinous thing to do such an incredible car.

It has to recirculate, and it's not made for making noise.

yeah I was thinking that, even just the way the car looks gets heads turning. I was more wondering what it does to the car when venting to atmosphere. and also...I see this acronym MAF heaps....whats that? hahaha NOOOOOBIE!!

MAF = Mass Air Flow (Mass air flow sensor connected to the intake filter/airbox that meters the incoming air).
