Agency power Turbo kit tuned on EVO8

This is a recent tune of the AP T3/T4 turbo kit on an EVO8.

Evo8 with stock engine
91 octane fuel
AP Turbo kit
T3/T4 50 trim .63 AR turbine street turbo
cat back exhaust
750cc injectors
255 pump
AP Fuel rail
Utec
HKS 264/272 splits

This was a street tune on 91 octane fuel. As you can see it was hot in the dyno room at 97 degrees. I actualy saw it hit 107 while tuning. Boost was about 18 psi avg across the runs. I made 4 back to back runs and made with in 5 whp of all of them. On the road it felt great. These are Fantastic numbers for this Mustang Dyno. Stock cars make 200-215 whp. I drove the car around with AC on in traffic knock free. I am going to retune it again on C16 fuel very soon. I will post the results. I expect much over 400whp. This turbo is the smallest we offer with this kit and is going to be out of breath soon... We offer a 57 and 60 trim including larger turbines. Also availble with 3071,3076, and 35R.

Any questions feel free to contact me.

This one is not a BB turbo. They are offered as an option. THis is a standard 50 trim t3/t4 turbo.

FWIW, I don't recall seeing anything in the compressor map of a 57 trim that convinced me that it was even as good as a 50 trim for most applications.

Hi guys. I am tuning this car tomorrow morning on C16 fuel. Someone mentioned late spool and this is alot of power on our dyno. I was told it was the 50 trim. THe customer went back and forth and to be honest I do not know what this is... Lol. I will measure the compressor to see if this car got the 50,57 or 60 trim turbo before it is dyno tuned again in the morning. Its possible this car has the larger turbo. It is comming on a bit late in comparison to the other 50 trim charts I have. Look for more information tomorrow.

In reguards to the 50 vs 57 trim I agree. However. I have tested both of these back to back and found a 20whp gain at same boost with 57. However.. It lost midrange power. About 20-25whp. I wish I had the charts to show this but this was last year on a dynojet machine. The 60 lost even more but made another 15whp. The real differences are on C16 and full out tunes which that test car never got. It was only tuned on pump and 100 octane. The car in this thread is going to be MAXED out on C16 tomorrow. The Tial Valve and Spring is being changed tomorrow morning to the big blue and then I am tuning it.

It is your kit but the customer said he doesnt know which turbo it is? I thought you sold him this kit...how could you not know? Dan Mermelstein, owner of Vivid Racing is also owner of Agency Power.....same building, same people. I know, I have met him when I lived in PHX and bought parts from you guys.

Whats the real story here?

Dont hate... The real story is that I retuned this car. I was told it was a 50 trim. From the power it looks like its comming on a bit late and making more up top. So I am going to measure it to find out for sure. I was not working for the company when this car was built. I retuned it because it ran like crap from the previous tuner...

The car is here and going on the dyno with C16 today. I will post numbers.

the 50 trim on pump should have no problems producing power all the way to redline....on this graph it dies off way soon when it should still be pulling.

the torque falls off too, it should be practically a flat line....

not hating....just want to know why there is a question on a product sold/made by the same company. Shouldnt Dan be able to look up an old invoice and find out what the turbo is from that?

I did not build it. I am just the tuner.. I just tuned the car and posted the numebers I questioned if it was the 50 trim as to me this car comes on a bit late and makes higher power then it should on this dyno. But alas.. I checked and it sure enough is the 50 trim with .63 housing. The Car had a .8 bar spring on the tial 38 and right after this it stuck as the customer ran High ash content fuel in it. The car is out back right now getting the upgraded valve and 14 psi spring put in. Maybe this will help the spool. I still plan on tuning this car out today on C16 at max power. I will post the numbers.

Also doing a 2.3 with 35R soon and a 2.0 with a GT30R and an EVO7 with a 60 trim. In the comming weeks will will have more numbers to compare.

As for the power band the car would not make more power 8k rpm. I made several pulls tuning 7K+ rpm band and there just was no more power up there. Maybe in cooler weather and on 93 octane. But on 91 oxy fuel this was about it guys.

Ok. Worked on the mapping last night and this morning. With the big blue spring installed boost was 13.6 with the controller off. Spool up is better. THis is a plumb back wastegate. I really wish this car had the atmosphere dump on it.

I worked on the bottom end some more. Leaned it out a bit and worked with the timing. Found some power but its still a bit lazy to come on. Much better now. On C16 the car makes 390-400whp at 25 psi. It does this with a nice smooth power band. If I try to go to 27-29 psi I get misfires. No knock but misfire. Took afr up and down with no effect. I ran it as lean as 13 to 1 for testing.. STill misfired. Ran it as rich as 11 to 1. Still misfires. Timing curve is optimal but I tried combinations of lower and higher timing and still misfired. Removed heat range 7 NGK Iridium plugs and installed NGK BPR7ES's. Still misfired. Got it pulled 405-410whp but I cant go higher. THe curve starts up like its going to make 450-460 but right past trq peak it misfires. No more time today so I turned it down to 385whp at 20-23 psi. It runs fantastic on the road. Pulls smooth and strong. I would really like to get this up to 28 psi. But it was not happening. I have had this same kit with this same turbo at 450 before. Granted this is about maxing out the little 50 trim anyways.

I am sure some Daves Coil on plug setup would fix this. Or maybe the HKS unit. But I cant go further today. i have to tune a 2G and then a 996tt Before the weekend. The customer is super happy at the current power level anyways. He only wanted 350 on the mustang. He got hear 400.
