Idle Misfire

Just a question.. I have a 06 IX with about 4500 miles I was just wondering if it is something wrong with my car or if it is normal.. anyways at idle it has a small random misfire.. nothing terrible but it is noticable when you are sitting in the car.. there are no check engine lights and its not throwing any codes in the evoscan software.. I just didnt know if this is something i should worry about or if it is common nature for these cars.. btw the idle is about 800 rpms

Yeah my '03 VIIII had the same thing ever since it was new, but mostly when it's cold. After I got an exhaust I could hear the misfire even more.

Careful here. Rough idle and misfire are two different things. A misfire is something that definitely needs to be addressed. You'd get a P030x code if you were actually misfiring I'd think ...

My IX has done that since it was new. I posted the same question and was told it's normal. Kind of sounds like a V8 with a cam.

I'm sure what you are feeling is just how these cars idle.

If it misfires X number of times in X period of time it will throw a CEL. So, unles that's on I wouldn't worry.

Mine does this too. It gets more noticeable when you get a TBE. It is like a hicup at idle. It seems very common on our cars.

My '03 has done it since new. It only does it on a cold start and it definitely is a misfire although at an idle the engine load is so light that you can barely feel it.

After installing my Ti catback it is more noticeable behind the car.

I have a Palm based deal and it seems these cars run in open loop for a while on a cold start.

Mine does same exact thing. 4400 miles as well, and I didnt really notice it till it was flashed. But mine does it at idle AFTER its warmed up. So I guess its just normal idle.

i have an 05 evo V111 and it idles as mention by everyone ..its rather annoying...but it seems to miss fire/sputter at 2nd and sometimes third...like the car "jumps" but not too too bad...is this the same as the car idling bad from stand still...
