Evo 8 350hp+

Howzit Guys

I live in South Africa and have a 2004 Lancer Evolution 8, I plan to do the following Mods on it:

- XS Engineering 3inch Down pipe
- Full Decat Exhaust & Free Flow Back Box
- Perrin O2 Simulator
- 10.5 Exhaust Housing
- Forge Actuator
- GSC 264 Intake Cam
- GSC 272 Exhaust Cam
- HKS drop in foam filter
- Greddy Hard intake pipe kit
- Cooling Mist Water Methanol Injection
- Walbro 255L Fuel Pump

- ECUTEK REFLASH

My question is what kind of power can I expect from all these mods?

ps. has anyone done business with Titan Motorsports (www.EvoStore.com) placed my order over 6 weeks now and they havent sent it yet...

You can see 350 with 22-24 psi, with an aftermarket IC. Why Water/Meth? Is it that hot there?

Do not listen to this kid, 30-32 psi on a stocker will not last long....

Well come to modding

Since you are in S.A. I am assuming it gets hot there - well hotter than Michigan

Down pipe - good
Full cat back (assuming 3") - good
Perrin O2 - do not need - search for Mechanical O2 fix
10.5 Hotside - good
Forge Actuator - good
Cams - coo
HKS drop in - no no no. That foam does not filter that well. If going drop in get the K&N
Greddy Hard Intake - do not get this either. Your MAF will not like you. You really only need the LICP.
Meth - good
WB 255l - good
Reflash - good

Also get-
I dont know the S.A. specs on the diverter valve (or BOV) do you have the metal JDM version? If not the IX or JDM DV.

Manual Boost Controller or Electronic Boost Controller - both are easy to use and tune up or down.

1 step cooler spark plugs (BPR8EIX or comp)

Future - upgraded clutch, head studs (if you like to run higher than 23 psi Id get those also. You could run the risk of warping the head / blowing a head-gasket.

WHP - on a dyno jet you will have about 340-350 with those mods and a good tune.

I made 320ish with TBE, MBC, intake, 20psi, and TT flash.

Cool thanks, Evos aren't very popular over here - theres mostly modded Subarus that are running arround... So it helps to up our game a bit

Mines is the 260HP spec so I plan to get a Evo IX diverter valve...

Don't plan to Boost more than 23psi if I can help it.

eXedy Clutch is onmy shopping list.

Looking for 350-380HP at the Flywheel...

Ok will try to source a K&N dropin Locally.

Why doesnt the MAF like "Greddy Hard Intake" ?

How many HP is the stock intercooler good for as with the Water/Alky injection I doubt I will have any detonation problems... I'm assuming a bigger IC is needed to flow more air?

The hard pipe post MAF causes a incorrect reading in the MAF. The stock box with K&N and MAF piping are good for 400 whp.

The stock IC is good for 400whp range also. I am still on my stock IC - running low 12s high 11s - no problems at all.

Larger IC means you need more air to fill it - which causes lag.

easily achived. if you do your exhuast, your flash, MBC, and some intercooler piping you should easily see 3100 to the wheels, roughly 350 to the crank ^_^

LOL, 3100 whp!!! err....maybe 290-300 on a 9.8 hot side.

Only IC piping Id recommend is the lower IC piping.

I'm not gonna dissagree about the K&N, but the HKS drop-in uses a different and much thicker foam element than the foam on the HKS RS intake. I've used my drop-in now for about 4 months and havent seen ANYTHING inside my air box. The filter is about 1.5-2in. thick BTW.

Show me where you've seen people have problems with the HKS drop-in. I know the RS doesn't filter worth a ****. Are you speaking from personal experience or did you "hear it from a friend".

you can boost to 26 psi w/ meth effectively, and without putting to much stress on the turbo. It will still be in the turbos effiency.

Thank you for correcting me - I thought it was the same type of foam. No need to comp an attitude.

I have used K&N for the last 10 years or so on all my cars.

LOL
Sorry if it came off that way, but Everyone assumes that the drop-in is the same (filter wise) as the RS, and tend to "throw it under the bus"!! To anyone out there that is looking for a good replacement filter, the HKS is usually half the price of the K&N and actually "swooshes" when shifting. Sort-of like an aftermarket cone filter.
