switching ECUs Help

Hey guys i have a quick question. My current 03 evo ecu is flashed for race gas.... if i switch ecus from another 03 evo that has my same mods but is tuned for 93.. will it plug right in and work at least decent? Some people have said i need a "key" for the new ecu to fit, and others have said the car wont start with the new ecu? Does any one know? Thanks

you have to have the ECU setup with your imobilzer code.

Not necessarily. You can download ECUFlash (www.openecu.org), order the Tactrix cable for $90 (www.tactrix.com) and have full re-flashing cabalilities over your Evo. Browse this site's tuning section and www.openecu.org for more information

That will give you the capability to flash in and out different maps, instead of the pesky tasks of switching ECU's all the time. It's worth the research.

^^ +1

Search the ECUflash forum for "immobilizer code". Pretty easy to reset.
