That's just my opinion on the transmission oil. I love my Redline. .
How does your tranny shift when cold with the Redline? Is there a slight notchiness in the 1-2 shift until the oil warms up?

So the only way to get the GL4 is to have Mitsu do the service since they only sell it in bulk? I was going to change mine this week....

Here is a thread that might bring more light to the subject of tranny fluid:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ht=syncroshift

Here is a quote from Jon@TRE in the thread:

"Hey guys,

I thought this would be a good thread to chime in on, so here's my take.

Pennzoil, good and cheap and it works well if the oil is changed every 5k. It does breakdown faster than the BG but if you change it often there shouldn't be a problem.

BG, good stuff and I really like the BG #2. It is a full synthetic and offers a higher film strength than the Pennzoil or the BG #1 and this makes a big difference for those who are making mega torque or road racing the car.

Also, for those who road race their EVO I would recommend changing all drivetrain oils and engine oils after being at the track all day. Running back to back road race type track sessions really puts the hurt on any oil. The heat really breaks down the oil and it's not worth it to not change the oils if you give a damn about the longevity of your stuff.

Race cars require race service intervals; make sure to service your race car

That's basically what it amounts too.

They sell the GL4 in 5 gallon drums for some reason.

That's great, but is TRE going to replace your stock Mitsubishi tranny under warranty.

By all mean after TRE rebuilds your transmission, why not use what they
recommend.

I'll chime in. The syncromesh is meant to be an additive, not completely fill your gear box.

From the STi/wrx crowd, there was a magic forumla most used, it was 2.7qts of full syntheic 70w90 and them just 4oz of the syncromesh. some Did like 1 quart of syncromesh and the rest just gear oil.

The syncromesh does help, but you really dont need to fill the entire box with it. Like I said, it was designed to be an additive
