10-15whp? Sure, but that is very little for $1300 or whatever. Again, it would behoove me to push you towards the 20g so that 1) Buschur makes some money, and 2) I get a stock IX turbo. However, I can't consciously do that, because I think it would be a huge waste to upgrade to a 20g from a stock IX...

You keep asking me about the durn mail-ins, haha. Yes, he can do a mail-in for pretty much anything with a stockish turbo except when dealing with alky. Btw, you'll only see the slight gains from the 20g if you are using alky and going ***** out with the boost.

Okay so warrtalon is going to hate me for saying this but...
DUDE WTF are you thinking!?! your going to drop 1300 on a turbo that you don't need! You have an evo IX, you haven't even begun to fully exploit the stocker! Your money would probably be better spent on the evo IX 280 cam set that I believe turbo trix released recently. 900 bucks if less than 1300 and IIRC they were making really good power. Save your money, I too was hopeful that one day a GOOD hybrid turbo would come out but to this day everything has dissapointed. If you want an upgrade worth the investment than it's 50 trim or gt30 time. If your looking for stealth than the vishnu kit is another possibility. 300 whp on an evo IX can be done with youir eye's closed and one hand tied behind your back, what is your horsepower goal? maybe you should give some of the respected evo shops a call and see what they say. If you call a good shop than they should give you an unbiased opinion.

I just want to keep that stock look underhood for our local "fun" nights

i will be doing cams as soon as i see they make decent power, im sure im somewhere around 330whp now, and have a goal of closer to 415 with alky but want a turbo with a little more top end, cause the stocker falls on its face, from what i have seen on dyno sheets

any other turbo's that are a direct bolt up that are what im looking for, because 4g's for a 50 trim kit, seems like it might not be the best use of my money, i thought for 1300, than i sell my stocker its a east, albiet not cost effective means of gaining 15whp on the top end while maintaining stock spool up.

the 20g will have minimal gains over the 9 turbo until you move to more than 23psi. even then the gains are only marginal but have a lot to do with how badly you sandbag it.

Mister pants, I don't have a reason to hate you for that, because I've been telling him the same thing this whole thread. However, your alternative suggestion is not good either. The TT 280s have NOT shown gains on ANY customer cars yet. For $900, they aren't even as good as going from a IX to 20g-9 turbo. He already knows the deal with cams and is waiting to see if the GSC 280s @ $599 make good power.

~30hp(Very high Boost). If you want to upgrade turbo, look into a 50 Trim(Max 500whp and good spool, make pwer at low boost) or bigger.

We can't tell you crank HP, because no one knows the exact drivetrain loss. Wheel HP is all that matters, because it is what you put to the ground and can be measured.

I think you're too worried about APPEARING to have a stock turbo. Maybe if you're trying to really make money with some sneaky street racing, but otherwise it's pretty lame to try to misrepresent your actual mods.

Has anyone ported the 10.5 hotside on the ix turbo yet? I'd be pretty interested to see how it compares to a 20g unported.

It's the same as porting the 10.5 hotside on an VIII turbo.
