Competition Clutches? Any Good?
so do you think the stage 4 would be a good kit for a max of 500 hp? I am also looking for a clutch kit. I think the spung 6 puck disc would be best. The 4 puck will wear faster if im correct and all though the price for the 4 puck is cheaper for that reason... Lets hear your opinions. I also drive this everyday and i am installing a shepard transmission at the same time.

Just thought I would clear that up.

I would personally find some info on the new CM twins would be interesting, but be careful as they are not a registered vendor. I'm esp fond of Kevlar for street applications.

I went from a Competition Clutch 6 puck copper to a Clutch Masters Kevlar (Stage 3) - and the results are f*cking amazing.
The difference in driveability and holding torque is unreal. The copper would shudder in 1st gear - every time. And with the lightwieght flywheel I was running - the shuddering was worse than on a stock flywheel.
I kept the lightweight flywheel and changed over to the Stage 3 Kevlar - and all the shuddering went away. My pedal pressure went back to stock b/c of the high leverage PP. The car truly drives like it has a stock clutch - yet it can hold more tq than the copper 6 Puck. Unreal.. I was seriously blown away. ANd the kevlar lasts 4 times longer and is easier on your flywheel.
So let's review - there is no shuddering, the pedal pressure is like stock, it holds more tq, its easier on the flywheel and it last longer. Sounds like a freaking wish list. I can't say enough about how happy I am. Seriously!
This is on my SR20DET, GT28RS NX2000.
When my IX needs a clutch - I'm getting the Kevlar twin disk.

Thanks,
smokinJoe, I am glad to hear that you are lovin the clutch! I do have to mention that you have the stage 3 Kevlar kit as our stage 4 is a ceramic type clutch, but all is true with the stage 3, it will hold the power while keeping the stock pedal feel and smooth engagement with extra long life!
