2.3 Stroker!!! What street TURBO??? INFO FOR ALL 2.3 setups

I have gone through so many threads for what turbo on a 2.3. gt35r,gt30 series, 20g, and 50 trims. Some people will be running meth, race gas, and live in an area that sells higher than 91 oct. Hopefully the info posted here will allow members who are going to a stroker to have a good idea of what turbo would best suit there needs. Please only post with first hand experience.

I haveing 2.3 built by RRE right now. I will not be runnig meth or race gas. My goal is around 400awp on CA 91. A 50 trim or a gt30 series seems to be in my range. Please post exact spec of the turbo you would recommend. thanks

I'd say a 50 trim! I am going with the AMS 2.3l shortblock and the AMS 50 trim.

totally depends on what you want to do with the car.. if you're going to just drive it around on the street and never do race gas then a 50 trim would certainly make a lot of sense.. call the reputable turbo kit guys like ams and ask for their help in selecting the right product.

why don't you ask the people that built your motor, what turbo to put on it... or is that too hard? why go to messageboardland and ask a buncha people that don't build cars for a living what they would do to mess up your setup?

rre builds a fine turbokit and they have a fine tuner as well as access to all the turbos you can dream up, including a hybrid 30r turbine mated to a 35r compressor... 400 on 91 is done best by those that actually run 91 and build cars to 400whp.

Maybe a GT35R to clear your goals with room to spare.

wont work very well on 91 octane **** gas.

my recommendation would be Greddy's T67/25G with the 10cm hotside (not the 8cm hotside). i believe RRE made 512 whp with it on a STOCK motor...

hte problem with running pump gas is that you get all the lag and none of the crazy rail road train action at the top end. 400 hp hitting at 5k rpms is hardly exciting when you could have a cool 380 hitting at 3.8k you feel me?

3076, I made 385 360 on 93 octane at 20 psi, now that its broken in(dynoed with 500 miles on the motor) an bumped up the boost I'd say its making at closer to 400/370 on 93 daily.

With someting like a 3076 you will make 340+ about from wherever your peak HP isto redline where as with a 35R you have ****(far less than stock turbo hp/tq) up untill about 5k RPMs then you have a bunch of power. Lots of people get there kicks from cars that are fast all over the rev range not just top end beasts.
