Increasing down force?
Increasing down force?
Did a track day with a few friends(it was a blast) and after a few laps I felt it could do better and be more stable at higher speeds. So it got me thinking about the wing and how much down force it really provides. So I was wondering what I could do to increase the down force on my IX. Someone suggested a different wing but I want to retain the factory wing, what can I do to add more down force?
Coilovers, MR airdam extension, skid plate for front end, MR vortex generator, IX MR gurney flap, rear diffuser, front bumper canards..that should keep you planted. I'd keep the factory wing it makes a great difference over no wing. I traded my '05 GSR in for an '06 RS and damn I can feel a HUGE difference on hwy speeds.
I'm set for another track day soon so will these mods help for next time:
carbon vortex generator, carbon front lip, carbon rear diffuser, and some coilovers. Will I notice a difference with those on my next track day?

Carbon or not those mods will provide a greater benefit as far as downforce. I would also suggest sticky tyres as well as some nice sway bars with a GOOD alignment. Car will handle MUCH more confidently through the turns.
