Any hard numbers? Let's see some baseline-to-upgrade comparisons on a IX.

for 2800 bucks it better pack more of a punch than just good spool!

my money will go to buschur, rnr or ams's turbos before i spend that kind of dough on a quick spooler.

better alternative would be a 20g TME right?

this is not old news... they never offered the wr wheel and they never offered a revised turbine wheel.

you guys are haters.

and you're also blind for not noticing that an AMERICAN manufacturer is involved which LIKELY means it'll be offered in america as would only make sense. otherwise fp is getting nada outta this deal.

If you do call them can you ask them if they´ll be getting any of those larger TiAl turbine wheels. I´d appreciate it as I live out of the country and the int´l calls bust me.

With respect to turbos, sometimes a seemingly insignificant change, such as, for example a change in compressor wheel trim can totally change the nature of the compressor map and result in a turbo with totally different spool characteristics. If you were to go onto Precision´s website and look through the list of variants available on the TO4-E turbo for Buick GN´s, you wouldn´t believe how many there are.

There are at least 30 different combos of CHRA´s, hotsides, and compressor covers available, beyond the dozens of basic Garrett mutations. You can play around with compressor wheels, trims, housings and etc. to exactly match the stall speed of your tranny´s convertor. All I´m getting at is that choice and variety are good in life and in turbos, as well.

Change is good....Trinydex came up with the idea of the TME-9 and I think that it´ll prove to be a very good and economical bolt-on turbo upgrade. Dave Buschur went through a hell of a lot of expense, and many compressor wheel designs to finally arrive at the BR 20G-9-5, which is unarguably one hell of a bolt-on turbo upgrade, I think the White Rabbit is very underrated and is really quite significant due to its innovative 5-blade wheel design. These are all fine examples of American ingenuity and knowhow. The IX compressor housing from Mitsu is also a small milestone.

The larger trim TiAl exhaust wheel from Turbo Dynamics could prove beneficial as it will allow for comparable spoolup to the TME and RS TiAl Mitsubishi wheels, while allowing for the opening up of the 10.5´s exhaust scroll allowing larger exhaust volumes and reductions in backpressure. This has to be a good thing.

Finally, if taken all together, these small changes in the configuration, shape, and weight of these individual turbo components, add up to more options for us as Evo owners, when we´re shopping for a 16G turbo upgrade. I think it is indeed a good time to be an Evo owner.

OK, just spoke to FP.

This turbo is designed for hardcore rally guys who want the ultimate spool-up and recovery times. I am paraphrasing, but basically all FP supplied was the wheel and Turbo Dynamics pretty much did the rest.

Per FP, this turbo won't make any more peak horsepower than a White Rabbit, but it will spool up and recover fatster due to the ball-bearing chra. This fast spool up causes so much surge that the ported compressor is required just to make it driveable.

FP WILL NOT BE IMPORTING THIS TURBO!

But do not fret, it's only because they are making something better. FP told me that the Evo is one of their main priorities right now and they are working on a few new products that fill the gaps between a White Rabbit and the FP3065. These are still in their infancy, so no real details are available as yet, BUT THEY WILL BOLT TO YOUR STOCK MANIFILD AND O2 HOUSING!

Imagine a turbo inspired by the White Rabbit that looks like it's fat brother with a TiAl wheel and a ball-bearing chra that spools up almost as fast and makes 80 more horsepower! Yeah, it could outspool a 50-trim , make just as much power, and install the same way your stock one did ... that would rock!

You really think this turbo can push 500whp? I dont see that happening if FP says it will make the same peak as a WR.

Who said anything about this thing making 500whp?

I was talking about one of the new ones FP is working on. Sorry if I confused anyone.

I was referring to this statement where you compared it to a 50trim.

Hey JB, if I'm reading you correctly, the people at Forced Performance are developing a turbo which will flow similar CFM to a 50Trim, but spoolup quicker with BB cartridge and TiAl turbine wheel, while bolting up to the stock manifold. Thanks for the info, it sounds like it'll be worth waiting for.

At least someone was following me because that's exactly what I thought I said.

Well I think we'll have to wait about 2-3 months and check with FP after that.

They said it's really still too early to give out any specs at all, so hopefully they'll have some info by then. I remember when the White Rabbit came out, there were several delays even after they announced it, so I don't want to get too excited just yet.
