Tansfer Case Noise

Searched around on here and was reading wha everybody said but still hasnt slved the problem. Did a clutch a few weeks ago and filled the transfer case back up and the ACD from the front. All of a sudden am hearing a whining noise and i think its the diff. Called AMS and they said i have the wrong fluid in the transfer case and it needs to be 75-250 shock proof stuff they use. they also said i might be in need of a new transfer case because of the ring and pinion might be shot. anybody hear of this problem happening? please tell me i can drain the t case and fill it up with the right stuff and the whine wil go away. also they said the only waay to bleed the ACD that you fill from the resevoir in the engine bay is to have mitsubishi do it or you need some $3000 tool. i was told you turn the key on and hit the gas and it will bleed the air out of the line. am very worried because i just looked at the price of a shep transfer case...

Ok, if you are only talking about the tcase then try filling it with Diaqueen from Mitsu. You refer to your clutch as well, so I am a bit confused. Like I said try the Diaqueen in the tcase and see if that helps. If not, get ready to ship it to either Shep or TRE!

If it is already making noise, then adding the proper fluid is probably not going to help.

Try to get it warrantied.

i dont really think i can take it back under warranty due to the fact that i have a turbo back, intercooler pipes, battery relocation, a flash, which i know is all able to be turned back to stock, but i also have a clutch job that was done, so once they see that the transfer case and tranny have been taken down theyre not going to warranty it

around how many mph is it whining at? i got an 05' 8 and it whines after 40mph when i accelerate. cant pinpoint exactly where its coming from, but someone told me that if it was the t.case that is whining, it would not just be when i accelerate.

Tc is done...gonna gradually get worse

I made the same mistake and didn't use the diaqueen stuff...and she started whining 2months after i changed my clutch... royal purple sux...i tried adding diaqueen...it was too late..

I plan on upgrading my TC at shep soon...u don't need to buy a new one...few hundred dollars to upgrade it.

Live and learn.
