I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the many cases where LICP's increased the knock threshhold of Evo's, and in some case completely eliminated a pretty huge detrimental detonation problem; allowing much more power to be had.

+1 KevinD, good response.

And I agree with Ted B. Between shift spool up time is improved, as well as rolling in power.

I dont know of anyone that has done a before and after with just the LICP. Since its not really cost effective, and money doesnt grow on trees for many of us.

Bottom line - do what you want. If you follow what many of us say about the LICP, and think it will improve your car. Then get one. If not, then dont.

I didn't notice any power increase, just better driveability and spool. I think it was worth the $145 I spent on it.

The LICP is so awesome that when a friend of mine put it on his car my car gained whp, too! And I hadn't even bought my car yet! It is the Chuck Norris of mods.

Seriously, by benefit alone of being shorter it should reduce pressure drop and help spool, etc. Can't hurt to do it after the basic mods.

When you purchase a FMIC (front mount intercooler), don't they usually include the LICP (lower intercooler pipe) as well? The kit from Greddy/Trust includes the metal piping from what I can see. So if you buy a "kit" FMIC, it should come with the piping included, shouldn't it?

Maybe someone should ask Buschur if he can post before and after dyno graphs of the Buschur LICP? He has done tests like this before...

I just installed my Nisei LICP today and it was a very unpleasant install process I must say. Anything that involves that damn undertray is awful, I hate that thing. Taking the bumper off was fine, getting it back on was fine. Getting the pipe lined up properly to bolt up and get it in the coupler and get the clamps on was HORRIBLE!!! Its a great product, looks amazing Just didn't have fun with the install. Then again it was from my back with a jack and jack stands.... I'll let ya know what I notice.

Would've been much easier if you had access to a lift like me.

Get on AIM.

That skinny little pipe from turbo to IC wont hurt you at all until your at least 60 WHP over stock. For minor modding you will be adding nothing except changing the way boost is built and flows.

On a IX however it would be a good upgrade initially
