EVO VIII boosting problem....

Basically I'm just asking to see if anyone has had or has had anything similar to the problem that I'm going to describe.

modifications: HKS intake, 3" turbo back, Elec. Boost Controller, SAFC II, Greddy Type RS BOV (single spring mod)

the car was dyno tunned on an AWD dyno at 21psi

308awhp
278awtq.

so after tunning, the car has been on daily driver status and working flawlessly for about 2 months now. Lately this problem where when I boost above 10-13psi the car blow's off by itself while the pedal is floored. Obviously the car looses power and I get irritated. One thing to note is that it is consistant through all gears. So far I 've checked my complete charge system for leaks visually, removing the front bumper cover and inspecting to discover no torn couplings or loose hoses. Also checked spark plugs to see if there were any signs of detination or leaning out, all of which seem to look ok. My hopes are that someone on here has had a similar problem and figured out the solution. Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

your bov is prolly opening like you stated... Adjust the tension on the spring buy turning the top bolt/stud.

after replacing the second spring the car compressor surge horribly and the boosting problem was still there. I even ran the car without a BOV with the same results.

YOur are unclear about the boost. When you hit 10-13 psi do you then lose all boost or do you only get 10-13 and the rest is blowing off

Who's boost controller is it because that is the direction I'd be looking.
10-13 is base boost on the wastegate spring so with hose on the wastegate gate you will get about 11 psi max boost before the boost pushes the wastegate open.

My bet is your EBC is the culpret. Ditch that expensive thing and buy a reliable MBC like a Hallman or Forge.
