Hallman boost controler evolution and evolution rx

Hi everyone,

I just did a search and could not anything on these 2 boost controlers.

I am looking to get a hallman with in cabin control, but there are 2 models out. The evolution and the evolution rx. It seems that the only difference is a steal ball and the other is a Ceramic ball. The rx also comes with 2 springs. Is one of these better than the other? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

1...The Hallman RX Kits have a "sensitive" or "light" spring which afford a maximum boost of approximately 5 PSI over the "stock" wastegate setting. The Hallman RX Kits also include the standard spring which the user may choose to install, which will allow a maximum boost rating of 30+ psi.
2...The Hallman Evolution Kits have a patent-pending cable system which allows inside-the-cockpit adjustability.

So if you dont want to boost crazy amounts of boost or accidently hit 30+ psi lol id get the RX plus you get the bigger spring with it anyways

Something to do with that ceramic ball. I had 2 reliable sources tell me to get the regular pro model and NOT the RX. Maybe someone can chime in. But hey, the cheaper one works so why buy a more expensive one.

Ive had the Pro model since day 1 on my car and its been perfect.

I cant for the life of me think who told me that, however, I know it was someone very reliable otherwise it would have went out my other ear like most stuff does. I remember them saying paticularly not to get the RX model! Im never going to remember this! Damn!

thanks for the help guys, I thought I heard the same thing soon2BEVO, but after doing a search I could not find anything. It seems that people are happy with the rx. Is there anyone who has had problems with the rx that can chime in?

I'm getting my car tuned on the Hallman Pro MBC that I have, and then after the tune I'm gonna utilize my HKS EVC 5 for daily driving

I got the Hallman with the in-cabin controller (with the ceramic ball). Works great. I live in Chicago, so the temps+humidity change often. Its nice not to have to get out of the car and adjust it.

Same here, although clicks would help just make sure when you install it to turn it all the way down and start from there, do 3rd gear pulls to get it right.

I have the RX and love it. I am running a tial WG with spring combo that should be good for 1.6 bar and am actually hitting 1.8 bar with the boost control turned all the way down, so the RX with the "light" spring works great for me running 30 psi.

You should do a before and after dyno. You should gain response with the EVC.
