Tranny noise or am I just paranoid?

Ok, went to the track last night...someone spilled something on the track and people were having traction problems...I launched and wheel hopped in 1st and let out and got back on it in 2nd...so I got paranoid and started listening around for any clunks/whirring noises etc...I noticed that my 1/2 gears have a little whine between 2k/3k rpms...is this normal on a ix and I'm just noticing it more cause I got paranoid after the hop or might that be a problem?

I already searched on gear and whing and came up with a lot of info and then I started searching the "tornado siren" threads too...but this is only a 1/2 gear noise between 2/3k rpms...where as the others were saying it gets higher with higher rpm, or that it whines when the clutch is depressed (tc) or happens in every gear.

it's normal to hear slight drive train noises on the evos.
If it's noticeable hound or gets louder, than I would take it to a dealer to have it checked out.

One thing you can do if you want to make sure, just drain your fluids and check for any severe shavings. Can't ever hurt to change them anyways Just make sure to fill it up with factory stuff (transfer case anyways).
