Got fuel??

OK here's the story

Im a Honda guy and i own a civic with a ton of stuff done to it, but on my civic I had to run a loud *** external pump to support my turbo. The biggest pain in the *** was taking the gas tank off and welding a sump onto it and the little bs that that goes with it. Well, the Evo I wanted to keep it as streetable as possible ,so I decided to do a twin walbro setup. Well, the problem with the evo is that they enclosed the pump inside a plastic assembly, and there was no way to fit another walbro in there. So... I decided to design a setup out of billet aluminum. Well after months of sending stuff back and forth and modifying little junk here and there, I think we're just about complete. The patent process is also in the works . The design I originally came up was all billet with no clamps but the cost for production was too much for a piece that noone will see anyways. So I decided to cut some cost and go the clamp route. Oh btw the piece that holds the fuel level sender will be machined as well. The one in the pic is a ghetto template. The wires will be routed later as well. But check it out..

Can the 2nd pump be staged to come on via a Hobbes switch, that is, controlled to come on at a user adjustable/preset boost level. The 1st pump working at idle and under low load and the 2nd pump kicking in only when it is needed at higher boost levels.....a staged double pumper. This way there would be no need for a larger return line as at low boost and engine speeds only a single pump would be working.

Say for example on a 500 whp Evo the single pump provides enough volume until let's say 22# boost. So the 2nd pump could be staged to kick in at 23# via the adjustable Hobbes switch. This way the 2nd pump only works when it is actually needed and the stock return line should suffice, and the 2nd pump wouldn't play havoc with the AFRs under low load operating conditions, and the stock FPR, fuel rail, and return line should be adequate.

I am probably just blowing smoke out the yazoo, so I apologize and take this opportunity to congratulate you on your beautiful innovative design work. Really impressive!

You can wire it up any way you want. Via a Hobbs switch or not. If i remember correct , I think AEM can control a second pump too as well. Someone correct me if im wrong but I thought i heard it does. But yeh the hobbs switch is a good idea as well. Theres a port on the side that i used a plug to close off, thats your high pressure side and that was meant to be routed to a pressure guage or a hobbs switch. Thanks for the kind words bro.
