You get more compression blowing past your rings under boost. The blowby pressurizes your crankcase and pushes out your dipstick. It happens more on older motors, generally speaking, but can also happen if you are boosting at higher than stock pressures. You can band-aid the symptoms with dipstick zip ties, springs, etc., or address the problem with a second vent hose, or re-ringing your pistons

Pinch the top of the tube a little bit, don't gorilla it, it won't come back out.

hmm I've always watched my dip stick to see if its comes out. I've seen japanese pictures of wire loom holding it down etc. but I have never expierenced this first-hand. I run ~22-23psi daily and no dip stick popping. Weird...

Some folks use a small band clamp to which the lower end of a spring is attached. Easy solution.

Removing the PVC valve and threading in a n extra Brake booster fitting to provide a second 3/8th inch vent line helped a lot in my 2g. If you don't have an extra fitting around a 3/8th BSP to 3/8th hose barb fitting from mcmaster works, for the DSMs at least. I'm not sure if the EVO valve cover has the same thread, might be different since there is an elbow there. As Eric said, if the PCV doesn't seal well, you'll build a lot of pressure in your crankcase in addition to the normal blowby. This is fairly normal on older DSMs especially, but I've yet to have the dipstick pop out on the EVO yet (42k miles). Some extra valve cover venting and a spring and hose clamp on the dipstick tube is the usual fix.

Go to the dealer and get new seals for the dipstick

and contact J-OnDemand and get that dipstick spring holder made by Garage HRS.
