Need help

i took my 04 evo into the dealership to get the trans fixed, when i got it back the rpm jumps down then up again every time i drop the hood to close it. i called service and they said its normal and they wont even take look at it. just want to kno if it happens to you guys to. mods are k&n drop in, TBE, 264 cams, fuel pump, boostcontroller, MR Divtertervalve, tune

That's pretty normal.. I don't know for sure but I've always assumed the knock sensor picks up the shock. Shouldn't be a big deal if you're only seeing problems when shutting the hood.

thanks for the quick replys, i forgot, the service manager said it was because the MAF sensor moves

Its normal. When you send all that vibration through the mass airflow sensor, its screws up the reading for a second. Ever notice when a really loud motorcycle goes it does the same thing? Both my evos have done this from day one.

wow..... i had the same problem with a kn typhoon intake and i thought it was the maf movin as well...
