Interior Lights

Anyone come across this yet? My interior lights stopped working today, less than 1 week old. The indicator on the dash shows the door open, etc but the 2 overhead lights do not turn on. My best guess at this point is the Keyless entry module is the problem.

I'm guessing the keyless entry has nothing to do with it. Why do you supect it?

The obvious thing is have you checked that the switch is set to door like it should be?

The next most obvious, is a bulb out? Is a fuse blown?

After that, just bring it to a dealer - a week old, so you've got to be under warranty - don't bother with annoying little electrical problems like this.

I am a former techniican so it is my very educated guess. The door indicator on the dash works when the doors are open which eliminates the switches on the door jambs. The overhead lights work when you turn them on, which eliminates the bulbs, etc. Since there is a timer function to the light, it is in the Keyless entry module for sure. Since there is no fuse blown I can ultimately assume it is the module itself.
Oh and as for the dealer there is your share of good techs and hacks, you never know what you are going to get.

have you checked the switches? they might not be adjusted right! and as far as the light being off.. well the timer would turn that off after 15 min or so to prevent the battery from draining. try to turn on the light and if it works.. check the switches. if not.. then i would resort to the module(if the lights work and the switches don't)

My GSX has a similar problem. All the dash lights come on (door open), but the overhead lights stay off. I have to reach and jiggle the black rubber door switch cover to get them back on.

If anyone has a wiring schematic for the '03 Evo, I would love to know what the wire color is for the door switch to the module and the from the module to the dome light.

The switches are not adjustable and work since the dash indicator works. Plus, even if they were wired seperately (which they aren't) that all 4 door switches are bad.
