I agree that a lot of people aren't making the power they are supposed to w/ a lot of their kits; but there are also people making good power w/ them. Which leads me to question the people's setups over just the turbokit alone. A turbokit is a pretty basic setup: the only differences lie in the manifold design/O2 housing/ intake setup; the turbo remains the same. I am only trying to defend against the blanket statement mentioned before that asks "why did you put that turbokit on a good motor?". I was skeptial myself of RNR and I do agree that their service is sometimes lacking, but I was more than pleased w/ the quality of all the parts in the kit. I hope to dispell the notion that they are substandard; and feel that if I get a good tune I will break the 450whp mark w/ ease.

I hear ya, I however for one believe that there manifold and usually hotside choice are the only elements that could really be hurting there numbers, which makes sense since the intake side of the turbo and wastegates are the same on all kits.

I understand your shooting for 450whp, but when people have made 500whp on the same setup as you why are you setting your sights low? I think if everything is solid on your motor you would be far closer to 500whp than 450whp, dont be so hard on yourself

I'm not being funny but do you seriously have any numbers or dynos of high output rnr 50 trims or 30rs?

I haven't seen too many people actually dyno their 50/3076 kits from RNR, so to answer you no. I have been seeing a lot of 50trim numbers lately from AMS/TT, but don't really see too many 3076 graphs. I have seen a couple RNR 35R kits putting out ~539 and ~510 on stock block/reflash which is on par w/ most other company's kits on a reflash. As for myself, 450whp is a conservative estimate especially considering I haven't built the motor yet. Everything over 450 is icing on the cake for me. The RNR manifold is equal length w/ clean welds and smooth transitions, the hotside is a true garret .63, and the O2 is 3". No real bottle necks in the system; time will tell and hopefully I'll give you a dynosheet to back up your doubts. Then you can be 2 for 2 on doubting both the ATP and RNR kits and be shown differently

Over the past few years i've noticed this trend, and I have still yet to see a rnr kit make the numbers of other proven kits. I'm not ******* the build quality of the product, just it's results when compared to it's competition.

Here's a couple I found for ya that actually make power w/ RNR turbokits; haven't been able to dig up 50trim/3076R graphs/numbers or times though:

I believe it's a matter of the setup/tune and not the turbokit as you can clearly see people are making good power.

Exactly right Creamo3, I do run a RnR kit with a GT3076 turbo and I honestly couldn't be happier. My car is full of stuff (heavier than stock and on 18s) and I ran the car at the track on pump gas and a #10 alky jet at only 25psi and ran 11.50 @ just under 120mph. I have been back to the track since then with new ignition and I ran that same times at lower boost but my higher boost runs I would either loose grip and blow past my shift point and miss 2nd or completely miss 2nd all together. My car makes power and I suspect it will trap well over 120mph and run low/mid 11's on pump and alky at 28-30psi. I don't have a local dyno it is 3+ hour drive away and hard to schedule time but I mainly look it for tuning and have never tested the car on it othern that a normal pump gas tune at 19psi.

Bottom line I am able to do this becuase the tune on the car is solid and I run the car at the track on the same tune I drive every day. RnR's kits perform just as well as any others in my opinion, if anything I have seen a one or two that wouldn't flow as well as the RnR kit when it comes down to the O2 housing and such.

Link 1- That 35R put out 50 Trim like Pump HP and TQ numbers, the race gas whp was on the money but the tq was down again.

Link 2- YOU FOUND ONE!!!!!!!!!!

Link 3- 530whp out of a 37R is far from impressive, I believe AMS has put out over 700whp with this turbo, and I know 35R's make those numbers on a regular basis, that TQ number is also correct and that 37R made 413 ft lbs of tq...

Link 4- No Tq numbers but the pump gas number of 390whp is poor for a 35R, the race gas number of 540 isn't poor but it still is sort of underperforming compared to some other 35R's.

Link 5- Jeff made decent numbers, again not impressive or "good" for a 35R but considering his modification level I was impressed.

Link 6- Again nothing impressive, still on the low side for good mustang dyno numbers, I believe buschur has made well into the 500's with 35R's on his dyno.

Link 7- You use RNR's shop car as an example- OUCH!!!!!! haha Seriously, 609whp out of a 37R and a 2.4l...... I think AMS probably has 5-6 customers making that hp or more on less displacement and a smaller or equal sized turbo, not impressive.

Link 8- No dyno sheet, no mention of numbers, no anything, did I miss something?

Bah, there is no pleasing you and I'm not so sure what numbers you think these turbos should be making but I think your perception is somewhat skewed. For a 35R car/ stock block/ meth injection 93 oct. the norm seems to be 550whp give or take 20hp.

Link 1- 565whp/465tq (35R) dynojet 29psi, C16 (more in it, especially considering the boost level)
Link2- 405whp/381tq (35R) dynojet 20psi, 91oct (we both agree that this is solid)
Link3- 540whp/415tq (37R) dynojet 28psi, 93/meth (that turbo has so much more life in it especially above 30psi)
Link4- 539whp (35R) C16 (stock block,flashed)
Link5- 511whp/433tq (35R) 50/50c16 meth (stock block/flashed)
Link6-472whp (35R)mustang dyno 32psi (10.8 AFR's)
Link7-609whp (37R) C16 26psi (you and I both know if they boost 35-40psi they will make over 700whp no matter how much you dislike them and probably even more)
Link 8-450whp (3076R) 93/meth 26psi (not to shabby considering the boost)

Regardless of the info I post to prove my point I understand that it is your life's desire to try to prove otherwise and be devil's advocate. Also keep in mind that most of those links are people on stock block/reflashed and trying to stay somewhat conservative to preserve their motors. To be honest I haven't seen any 3076R's on Evo's put out over 500whp and it seems that the 50trim trumps it on all accounts. Prove me wrong and show me all these dynosheets w/ people making 600whp on stock block 35R. Please don't be so petty and try to actually contribute to threads instead of being a constant nuisance.

Shizzam, I think I contribute pretty well, also you might want to put turbo size or whatever next to all the links......

Yes a lot comes down to the setup, but when lots of cars share one particular component (turbokit) and produce lower than normal numbers, I find that odd or interesting.

Scorke

can that be with a BB50trim and a 2.4ltr? if that cna work i should have some numbers when my motor gets here and im up and running in a month or so.

Bam!! Ask and thou shall receive (updated w/ turbo info) Thanks for referring to that thread because you just reaffirmed that the RNR turbokit is actually doing quite fine based on the numbers in there. Never doubt me
