GT25 vs TD05 for 1.8L

Hello all,

Just wondering if you can give me a hand. I am going to upgrade my turbo setup. I have a 1.8L GSR with full 3" zorst and VR4 front
mount.

I mainly do hillclimb and motorkhanas so I don't need big top end
stuff, but rather the down low grunt and response. I am tossing up between the TD05 (Evo) and the Garett GT25 at the moment.

I gather that I need exhaust housing, in take manifold, oil/water
lines changed. What about my FMIC and computer and fuel???

Which turbo is better for my needs?? Keeping in mind I don't want the upgrade to be so obvious that cops can pick it once under the bonnet.

Thanks,
Anthony.

Hello Anthony, did you perform the upgrade you wanted to? Did you finally modified your fuel setup? any computer change?
Can you share with me the results of that?
I own a Lancer GSR also and sometime ago i was looking for doing such upgrade in my car.

no result just yet, I have been busy buying a business for the past couple of months. I am now the owner of Phillcom Rally (www.phillcomrally.com) and just so happens I am now a dealer for Garrett and we also sell TD05H.

Out of the two, I have decided to go with the Evo 3 turbo as it is much easier to install and much cheaper little very little fabrication of parts. Not to mention it spools up fast and is perfect for what I want in motorkhana and hillclimb.

I have a Haltech E6K and also an Apexi GT intercooler sitting under my bed waiting for the TD05 to arrive and then I will put on. Should be within the next month. So stay tuned. Email me if you want to keep in touch.

Cheers,
Anthony.
