Use the MUT tool to lock the ISC at whatever step it locks it at then adjust the idle to 850 using the BISS. What, don't have a MUT tool? Neither do I.

Brilliant... or not!

Yes, you do need to use the Mitsu tool to get it right. Esp since stock setting seems to vary between 4-6 turns from full closed.

BISS = base idle speed screw. It trims the air getting past the throttle plate so that the ISC (Idle Speed Control) stepper motor doesn't run out of travel. If the stepper motor runs out of travel (the BISS isn't set correctly) the engine may die or surge at idle.

To adjust the BISS you need the MUT tool, which I feel is ridiculous. I can't see driving the 100 miles to the nearest dealer to just set my idle. Some smart person needs to come up with a work-around for this.

EVOScan can show you the 'steps' on the stepper motor if that helps at all.
