Hey guys. I know some of you already have a T Belt tensioner tools. I have all materials to make my own I just didnt know how long it is? I know DSM guys made them out of there battery tie down bolt. I would do that but I relocated my battery yrs ago and no longer have that bolt. SO whats the length of the rod tip tip. Thanks Alot.

I don't have it handy, but IIRC 6" is long enough- but I'd go a little bit longer to be safe. 8" will be plenty. I made one from a piece of class 8.8 or 10.9 all thread and two nuts butted against each other- don't use cheap threaded rod. Grind the threads down on the first half inch to the minor diameter and add a spherical radius on the end.

And for others, don't use the battery hold down bolt- it's a very soft steel. You will have a problem removing it when the threads screw up.

Edit: I measured the one I made and it's 6.5".

8" long with 3" worth of thread. Don't go cheap here..... if it breaks, it's gonna cost you big.

I think AMS sells it for $35. Put some antiseize on the threads as well. Thats how I combat the sticky thread problem.
