HELP!!! Boosting insanely

Had a major problem after installing my 10.5 hotside, walbro 255, 02 housing and doing spark plugs (BPR7ES gapped to .027)!! My car is overboosting to like 1.7 and 1.8 bar and it holds there and I have not even touched the boost. While I was driving and downshifetd to 4th hit the gas and the car bucked my friend could hear the loud noise i let off the gas and it started driving smoothly again and then my ses light came on. I through a code for engine overboost actually forgot the number. I tried to do some research on here but cannot get to a concrete answer. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if a tune can fix it or if i have bigger problems than just missing a tune? I do nnot know if it ios boost creep, fuel cut, etc. pretty new and still learning? Thanks 4 ur help in advance

My Mods are:

10.5 hotside
ebay o2 housing
megan downpipe
UR testpipe
megan catback
walbro 255

Perhaps in the process of removing the turbo/header assembly you forgot to connect back the wastegate/solenoid and or the compressor nipple boost lines causing it to overboost all the times.

Secondly it could be that your turbo shield is inproperly installed causing the waste gate rod to not move properly holding the flapper close consequently overboosting.
It is very easy to have the turbo/header assembly hit the waste gate rod.

Like carlos said it could be missing somthing... But one thing to ask, did you turn down the boost and it still over boosted?

I never turned down the boost. I dont have an MBC but I will be getting one. Also note that when I noticed I was overboosting at first it held that psi with no hiccups. later that night it bucked while I was in forth at around 4500 RPMS

The stock ECU on the 03 is somewhat airflow limited. You will hit fuel/boost cut quite often until it gets flashed. Vishnu has an Xflash for $99 that fixes that issue.

Also the boost map your evo is using is probably too fat for those mods. If you dont get a flash or piggyback you'll definately need a manual boost controller to set boost.

For what its worth my O2 housing caused boost creep from 4k-6k in 4th and 5th gear. You definately will want to keep an eye on your boost gauge in higher gears.

The hotside and O2 are good for nearly 30HP though so the time you spend in tuning is worth it.

Run a MBC and have someone with ECU flash change the parameters in Boost Limits to the max and you should be set or you can just turn the boost down to about 20psi.
