Newb Question Please Help :)

hey guys newb here

ill keep the question/questions simple and let me thank everyone in advanced for helping me out . THANKS !

ok im looking at basic mods to do to my 06 MR to get a good amount of power. i have it narrowed down to these mods.

-spearco intercooler
-hks ssqv bov ( i know it doesnt have much performance value, but it sounds awsome
-RSR catless 3" downpipe
-Greddy Evo2 catback
-intake (not sure what kind or which brand is best)
-manual boost controller (not sure which is best either )
- A/F controller

ALLLLLLRIGHT , those are the mods i have in mind. now im not sure if those are the best brands or models but i was hoping you guys could help me with that. any good brand names / parts that give the best performance and quality. if i dont have something listed and you think it would be cool , go ahead and tell me about it, id appreciate it. if i do have the part listed but its not a good brand and theres a better brand let me in on it , or the part is just worthless and i might as well stay stock, let me know about that too

thanks guys

daniel

Very poor choice in mods. Get your flame suit on becuase there is so much info on this site all you have to do is search. Once you have done this you will already know what to do and to get. I will give you a hint though.

Get rid of the BOV and IC, a/f controller and intake

heh since your new here il try my best to help you out. first off you dont want that hks bov, sacrficing sounds over performance kills, your stock bov is already top notch for your current set up. If you want some sound, start looking into a cone air-filter, check out buschur racing. you dont need a intake either, your stock one is good enough, plus if you run it untuned you'll even lose some power. you would want a full turbo back exhaust, look into buschur or ams they have one of the best one out there, same with the intercooler, i dont hear that many people with spearco intercooler on a evo but only supercharged s2000. As for boost controller, forge motorsport make a good one.

Your welcome. Your first choice of mods should be the follwing depending on budget of course however, seeing your list you look liek you have about 4 grand to play with.

So here it is

3in tbe, o2 housing, mbc, dyno tune, drop in, walbro 255, licp and thats it for now. Until then if you want more then a turbo upgrade is near.

Yes tuning tech is the best tuning available IMHO.

TBE, MBC, Drop in filter and a good dyno tune.

i also want to get Swift springs and a 25mm RRE rear sway bar and maybe stiffer bushing all around too, thats why i gotta ration the money i have accordingly .

thanks guys. and i will def keep the search button in mind next time i think of an overly asked question haha

Yes but when you do the tbe you miles well do the o2 upgrade too. There is no sense of just doing the tbe then the o2 cause the o2 is a pain to get to. Besides the 02 makes a huge difference.

That mod list sounds perfect.

You dont need a O2 housing right now. I understand SKILL said might as well do it it when your in there, I dont agree with that and putting on a TBE is alot different then a O2 house IIRC. (dont you have to go in from the top, unbolt manifold, turbo and then O2 housing?)

On your suspension, I would look into gettin full coilovers. Spring are kinda ghetto and they dont make neew shocks for the EVO because most just go coilover. They cost anywhere from 850- 5000$. Megan Racing are only 850 and have gotten great reviews.

id suggest TBE for starters and then think bout intake, fuel pump, tune after that. Make sure you do a lot of research after all its ur car and u should be making the decisions about what parts u want on it, not the people on here

I agree with this. The o2 housing is not worth the pain in the *** installation for a measly increase of hp (if there are any to begin with).
