couple problems after the track

so i went to the track today, ran a 12.1 on a TME,272 cams, 3"tbe, alky injection, not really much traction, but when i was leaving i noticed that my car was running a bit lean, usually im dead on 11.5 but now its hitting 11.8 also it idles kinda high like 1200-1500 rpm, it used to idle at like 800 before i ran at the track. anyone have ne ideas what could be the problem?i made about 13 passes over 4 hr period. thankssss

Is it running lean or rich at idle? At idle if it is suddenly running lean, this indicates a vaccuum leak (sucking in unmetered air) however at the same time, under boost it will be running rich (metered air is escaping). If you noticed that this is the case, you definitely have a leak somewhere. Also might want to check if your alky system is running OK.

That's a bit odd that it's idling high and running a bit lean on boost. A boost leak would make it run richer.... you might want to do a compression test; might have gotten some detonation and damaged the rings. Did you have anything to datalog and read the knock count?

Another though is the fuel pump could be acting funky.

Hmm..... exhaust leak might be the likely culprit. If there's a leak before the O2, it could mess up the readings and cause the high idle. I guess check that first!

oh, i just had a thought.

there was a member on here that had a problem with a meth kit. it was dumping meth without the pump even being on. i would check your intake track to see if the meth is being pulled in by the vacuum caused by idling. this will make it run rich at idle. see if it is leaking. good luck.

couple problems

Leaner running is the result of some unmetered air getting into the engine or possible the mass air meter not reading all of the air going into the engine. One way to afffect the meter (at least a hot wire meter which we don't have) is to get air filter oil on it. Did you use an oiled air filter? A vaccuum leak will usually affect your idle vaccuum. Are you still pulling the same vaccuum at idle? Lastly, I have seen all kinds of problems with boost gauge connections. You might want to check this.

The alc kit pump you purchaced from ripping EvoM people off is going out. Parts that are hard earned usually get installed better.

Good luck
