BR cast manifold

Anyone in here who has the Buschur Racing cast manifold? gonna build an 450-500hp engine that can do long times on the track, tired of tubular manifolds that cracks,so would be nice to here from someone that have abit experience of this manifold.

Well i've never heard of AMS manifolds cracking. And Shearer manifolds are also one of the best, with a lifetime warrenty. They supply Buschur with some of there manifolds also. Full race also has good manifolds.

i think theres a big difference in quality between a mass produced manifold like a dc sports compared to a well engineered manifold from ams/hpf. Do not compare them because they are two different quality standards. Why get a aftermarket turbo kit with a cast manifold.

there have been a few manifolds that have cracked... a tubular manifold no matter how well it is made will crack eventually...

That's pretty much my though on tubular manifolds. Heck, I've heard of Inconol manifolds on 300zx's cracking. It's my perception that it's just a matter of time.... the question is, how long?

AMS has beaten on their car/manifold in the One Lap of America and various time attacks and it's held up. I don't think anyone has found out when one will crack yet.

Maybe stick one on a car that's a daily driver (say 15k miles a year) and sees a good number of track days a year, and then we'll see how well they hold up. Maybe they'll last 2 years? 4 years? 6 years? 8 years? I don't think anyone knows yet.

You can almost guarentee that a cast manifold will hold up to anything though.

That's not really true. 1G DSM manifolds cracked all the time. SBR cast manifolds crack. Heck, even the legendary HKS T4 4g63 manifolds crack eventually. The common thread is that turbocharged cars produce a much higher stress environment for the exhaust manifold.

That having been said, if you want a dead reliable car for a decade, leave it stock. If you want to modify it, get what will perform the best and be as reliable as that envelope will allow. Shearer manifolds have a lifetime guarantee. He's not had to honor that guarantee, since none have cracked or failed. Commitment to workmanship makes a difference. It's possible that other high end header manufacturers have similarly low failure rates.
