Does your friend have a flash or piggyback system? Any atmospheric BOV will cause you to bog / stall occassionally (mine does as well) due to the excess air being vented out of the system. The maf reads wrong, and you basically run rich.

Running a flash or piggyback will fix it (providing its a good tune), or you could just blip the throttle when the revs are dropping. I kinda developed a habit for that.

its because you are not tuned for your intake. the maf is reading much more air than it is used to. its not the MR diverter valve (IX "bov"), its been talked about you need a TUNE for the intake.
