2005 5 spd EVO VIII OWNERS!!! how are your trannies holding up these days? I happened to be driving around and a BMW hit me up so i mashed down on 2nd and third and i heard a loud "TIC" over the Small bumps on the road and this was when torque/boost kicked in... Not sure if it sounded like a CV joint or just ROCKS or pebbles. It only happend once, car drives fine and i took it to a smooth road and mashed on 2 and third to see if it did it again. Car is tuned for 91 pump 276hp/282tq. All I know is that BMW got waxed! I'm just scared that i F****ED somthing up. Has this happened to anyone???


Any inputs would be great. Oh yeah car has almost 19k miles and have not done a transfercase and transmission fluid change.

 

If it only happened once i wouldn't worry about it....I have an 05 with 38000 miles today and have had zero issues with anything.

 

Well mine has 35000 miles and i have this annoyibg 5th gear grind. It only happens when i lay into it in 4th gear then shift to fifth. Other than that i have had no issues with the car.

 

I'm watching out for this guy in the classified if I buy an evo.

 

thanks for the inputs. drove the car today and it seem fine. guess it was just a rock or pebble on the road. Hey Tony Gibson, you run 11.8 is that Quarter? what kind of flash, and was it on racefuel?
