What to do?

well, i am soon, within the next few days, going to buy a stock evo8 from a friend. i have a budget of $8000, but can strech the budget to $10000 max if needed.

i want to mod this evo, please dont go much in to technicality as i am no good with such stuff. i prefer to leave all this to my mechanic when he's fixing the parts. i wish i was in the states so i could just take my car to any of the top racing tuners like ams or buschur. i am basically looking to mod the car up to min 400 awhp on 91 octane gas. while upgrading i dont want to sucrifice anything as I am looking to make this evo to be a daily drive car in the same time a race car that i could take to a strip or a track and be able to beat many cars there.

Any setup combo will be great especially if someone already have proven to produce such powers on 91 octane gas.

Please dont advice me on meth/alky kits as i hate it especially when i race and kids react as if i am cheating using this kit.

I did search the forum but get many different info's and got confused and couldnt make much sense after reading alot. but from what i understand the ams 50 trim turbo kit is the best, while others say its not worth it because of the price and you could get the same kit somewhere else for much cheaper price.

need your help, so What to do?

How much are you gonna give for this Evo and what year is it? You might be better off taking a few grand from the money you intend to use for modding the used Evo, and put it toward the purchase a brand new Evo IX instead. You should still have a couple G´s left to mod the IX after the purchase.

A brand new IX with $5000 in mods would be preferable to a used VIII with $8000 in mods. At least from my point of view it's better to purchase and mod a new IX.
