ECU Upgrade

Surfing the net and saw this site selling a power package for EVO 8. The package includes HKS or Tomei cams and ECU tuned for the cams, I think . Has anyone look into this yet?

Here is the site. http://www.real-engineering.com/

I'd like to have the ability to tune the computer myself.. Of course I'd like to get a baseline provided to me.. But there's just too many variables out there to take a single ECU program and have it work well for everyone.

BTW, Their site is incomplete, so I'd be a little suspicious of their claims for now.

I've talked with those guys about their ECU capabilities at length. They do seem to know quite a bit about what they're doing. I have no doubt the ECU mods are legit. Sadly, this is still just a reflash of the static data components of the ECU (timing and fuel tables, fuel cut, etc.). They don't seem interested in developing a more user-adjustable feature set. Oh well.

That said, I personally find the proposed pricing structure outrageous. To each his own and I know the costs involved, but $1400 for a set of 264 cams and an ECU reflash. Cripes.

Does anyone have any information on how to reflash the ECU? (Or, preferably, like the SR20s, slot in a second EEPROM?)

I've read through the instructions for the SR20, it looks simple enough for someone who has a good knowledge of computing, and a passable knowledge of electronics (like me). But unfortunately, I don't have an SR20 based car... When I do get my Evo, it'd be nice to be able to reprogram it myself, for the price of a $0.20 EEPROM.
