Smile Evo 9 TME Turbo 6 Blade Dyno #'s

I finally had the chance to get my car re-tuned after having my new Evo 9 TME Turbo 6 Blade on my car for about 3 months. AMSTuning.com here in Maryland got there new AWD Dyno and Mike started tuning cars. So without hesitation I made an appointment to get my car tuned.

My car was tuned with alcohol injection, I run 100% methanol.

Numbers going in from my last tune with my Evo 8 turbo:

364.4whp 346.3 ft-lb

Evo 9 TME Turbo 6 Blade with AMSTuning on 10/20/06

382.2whp 372.7 ft-lb

I must say the car feels great. I could tell a difference right off the jump.

Soon as I get to a scanner I will post a copy of my dyno slip.

Is this mustang low reading or is it calibrated to read like a dynojet?

This is correct. Cal I bought this turbo from you. I had forgot to state that this indeed is a Evo 9 20G TME 6 Blade design turbo on my car. As you can see Cal I am happy with my purchase.

I was told that this dyno is equivalent to a Mustang Dyno.

If you look in my Sig there is a complete list of my mods. The only thing that changed since my last dyno run with the 8 turbo is just the upgrade with the Evo 9 20g tme.

The 20g made all the difference.

Are you sure its equal to a mustang dyno cause your previous dyno #'s are on par with mine from Pruven's dynojet and we have similar mods? You put down 364whp 346trq and I did 347whp and 352trq. Just trying to put the numbers in context. People are going to relate it to Buschur's mustang dyno where 380whp is close to 450whp on a dynojet.

Yeah, that's not a Mustang Dyno (sig) and isn't reading like a Mustang Dyno, but the gains are fairly consistent with going from an 8 to a 9 turbo.

The torque curve looks very, VERY strange. Is there something wrong with the spoolup? I would have expected peak torque about 1000 rpm earlier, but it is cool how the WHP curve flatlines instead of dropping off - that's the TME part, I guess.

Hey, are they really using EcuTek, or did you just forget to change that in your sig?

That's why I PMed you. AMS is close to my house and is using that dyno. those numbers look a little lower than a dynojet reading of similar mods to me. I base this solely on numbers I've seen by local owners with nearly identical mods versus what evo police posted. Not implying a weak tune to the OP and I acknowledge there are other variables that can account for variations. I guess the track is the only way to really settle the descrepancies among dynos.

^^ What Warr said. Also why did they not run the car all the way to cutoff. They seem to lift off even before 7000 rom. Weird.

Yeah, it's too bad they lifted before 7k, because I'm sure everyone is interested to see how long the TME 20g holds its power, since that is part of its appeal. The unfortunate thing is that the TME should spool better than a non-TME, and this 5000rpm peak torque is a bit troubling.

Exciting News, I won't consider it low or high until we have some track times. I have no idea why Atlantic Motorsports chose a Dynomite dyno that no one has heard of and that no one has reference data for, but that's what they chose, so we will have to re-learn from scratch over the course of time so that we can make halfway decent comparisons with other dynos.

I was told by amstuning that there dyno is very close to a mustang dyno. I stressed this since my previous dyno was done on a mustang dyno. This way it would be easier to really see a difference. Again my prior dyno of 364whp/346tq was conducted on a mustang dyno for sure. I still have those dyno graph's if they need to be seen.
